Help Establish a Masjid Waqf to Establish Islam in Scandinavia

What is a Waqf and why do we need it?
The concept of Waqf was instituted by the Prophet ﷺ and has the potential to create immeasurable benefit and rewards.

A Waqf is an Islamic trust fund for the Muslim community where its capital and property cannot be sold, given, or inherited. Its proceeds are to be used for a good cause and cannot be utilized for anyone’s personal benefit.

To establish a Waqf is an act of worship which is highly recommended in Islam.

Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) got a big piece of land in Khaybar which he considered the most valuable of his possessions, given its good quality and excellence.

The Companions used to compete in doing good deeds. So, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking to attain righteousness that was mentioned in the verse (which means):

“You will not attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love.” [Quran 3:92]

He consulted the Prophet ﷺ on how to give that piece of land in charity for the sake of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ advised him with the best type of charity, and that was to keep the land itself as an endowment – a Waqf – to be used for charitable purposes.
Why should I donate to this cause?
This Masjid Waqf will, in sha Allah, be used for building and maintaining Mosques and Dawah centers, Islamic schools and institutions, giving Dawah and establishing Islam in Scandinavia.
Through your help we’ll be able to purchase properties that will be rented out. The proceeds from these properties will both finance the Islamic cause, and the Waqf’s growth.

With time the Waqf will become multiplied manyfold in its size, in sha Allah. A few hundred dollars donated to the Waqf today, may become huge assets for the Ummah, worth tens of thousands of dollars some years from now.

The Waqf system has through our history been one of the greatest assets of the Ummah. Through Waqfs the Muslims have been financing Mosques, Islamic schools, universities, hospitals, and all kinds of good causes. In order to create a long-term growth of Islam in any society, the Waqf system must be implemented.

As a community we need to start planning for the future of Islam in Europe, and that’s exactly what this Waqf does. With this Waqf we’ll be laying the foundations for the Islamic work and institutions to flourish for our next generations.

To donate towards the establishment of a Waqf is far more beneficial for the Ummah than donating to a one-off good cause. That’s because once a Waqf has been established it becomes an asset for the Ummah which keeps on helping those same causes you would want to donate towards, but on a continual basis – which is far more beneficial. That’s also why the Prophet ﷺ considered it to be the best type of charity.

Every single one of us should take part in establishing this Waqf. This is, in fact, of the best causes you can donate towards. This Waqf will, in sha Allah, produce immense on-going benefit for the Ummah for hundreds of years to come.
What rewards can I expect?
I’m establishing this Waqf in my mother’s name, which means that I am donating my Ajr to my mom. I want this Waqf to be an ongoing charity for her.

This Waqf will, in sha Allah, be building and maintaining Mosques and Islamic centers. The reward promised by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for this cause is that Allah will make you His neighbor on the Day of resurrection and build a house for you in Paradise – Allahu Akbar!

If you help me establish this Waqf for my mom I will be forever grateful to you! And I believe that you will be getting more rewards than my mother from the donation that you make. Because Allah, The Most Generous, said:

هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ

“Is there any reward for goodness except goodness?”
[Quran 55:60]

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever relieves a Muslim of some worldly grief, Allah will relieve him of some of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection. (…) Allah will help His slave so long as His slave helps his brother.” [Sahih Muslim 2699a]

If you do this huge great deed for me, my mom, and the Muslim Ummah, then be confident that Allah will reward you with far more than you are donating.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The people most beloved to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others; and the most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles (…)

Walking to fulfill a need of my Muslim brother is more beloved to me than sitting in i’tikaf in a Masjid for two months. (…) Whoever walks with his brother to fulfill his need and fulfills it for him, then Allah Ta’ala will make his feet firm [on the bridge] on the day when the feet are shaken. …”
[Narrated by Ibn Abi Dunya in Qada-ul Hawaij, hadith: 36]

Inna lillahi wa inna ileyhi raji'oon.
My mother passed away on Wednesday, 26th October 2022.

This is my first Ramadan without my beloved mom.

She became 67 years old.

May Allah to have mercy on her soul, forgive her sins and elevate her status in Jannah, Ameen.

My family and I buried her on October 27th.

The last days up until, and after, her soul departed were very hard...
My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer.
The doctors operated her and removed it, but her lungs did not function as they should have after the operation.

She got a serious lung condition known as ARDS which caused fluid to build up in her lungs.
The doctors put her on a respirator hoping to save her life.
Just a few days before she died the doctors said she is getting better...

They woke her up from coma...

she had a pipe operated through her throat in order to breathe.

Even though she was awake now, after being in deep sleep for two weeks, she couldn't talk.

When I asked her something, she just nodded and shook her head, very slowly.

She was in pain so I didn’t want to say too much.

I could see she was crying when I got emotional in front of her.

So all I kept saying was that it will be ok in sha Allah.

Allah will heal you...

Everyone is making du'a for you...

Zeshan, my brother, is making Umrah for you...

My dad is regularly sacrificing animals and sending the meat to orphanages for you...

The doctors are saying that you are getting better...
Ya Allah, how could I know that Allah had decided so differently?
I used to hold her warm hands every day at the hospital...

But now, her hand was cold.

Her face was cold.

She had gone back to her Rabb.

Her last night was very tough on me.

The doctor had said she'll most likely die in the next 24 hours because her blood is getting sour.

Her lungs are not able to pump out CO2.
If she survives the next 24 hours, she will not be able to live, they said.
Her lungs are too damaged.

Getting that news was very difficult to digest...

I still kept on begging Allah to cure her, but my du'a shifted a little bit, and I started saying to Allah that if He had decided that her time had come, then have mercy on her soul, make it easy for her and forgive her...

I stayed at the hospital until 3 AM that night, reciting Surah Yasin at her.

So that if her time had come, the soul could find comfort in the Words of Allah...

but still hoping for a miracle to happen.

I went home.

Slept a couple of hours.

Came back.
Her face had turned yellow.
Her soul was about to depart.

I said to her, repeatedly, hoping to reach her:
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
Making du'a that Allah fills her field of vision with white angels, the angels of mercy.

Her heart stopped.

Inna lillahi wa inna ileyhi raji'oon.

My beloved mummy, whom I loved so much and would give my life to save, left me and returned to her Lord.

Death is Haq!

Paradise is Haq!

And Jahannam is Haq!

I put all my trust in Allah when I asked Him to cure her.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no Muslim who calls upon his Lord with a du’a in which there is no sin or severing of family ties, but Allah will give him one of three things:

Either He will answer his prayer quickly.

Or He will store (the reward for) it in the Hereafter.

Or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him.”

They, the Sahabah, said:

“We will say more du’aa’.”

He said:

“Allah’s bounty is greater.”

[Narrated by Ahmad, 10749; al-Tirmidhi, 3573]

We asked Allah for life for my mother.

I begged Allah so much to give me one more chance, just ONE, I said to Allah – to serve my beloved mother ❤️ ...

Since He didn't give me that, I am confident that our du'a must have prevented something worse for her.

So I accept Allah's decision.

For indeed, He knows what is good for me and what was good for my mother.

And He is more merciful to His servants than any human being ever can be to his or her beloved.
My mother was a pious woman.
She taught me and my siblings to read the Qur’an...

She prayed her 5 daily prayers...

She was a good wife to her husband...

She was a loving mother to her children...

She used to love reciting the Quran so much...

In Ramadan she completed the Quran multiple times...

Her sons established Islam Net, the greatest (in my opinion) Islamic organization in the whole country...

Her sons are now establishing the first of its kind Mega Mosque and Dawah Center in Norway, which will serve as a Sadaqah Jariyah for her all the way until the Day of Judgement.

And in sha Allah, just wait and see, we will do much more khayr, all of which will be added to her scale of good deeds...

Because she is the reason that we're able to do the things we're doing in His path...

Right now, we’re in Ramadan.
The best time of the year to give Sadaqah.
I have decided that I want to establish a Masjid Waqf on behalf of my mother.

An endowment that would finance the running costs of our Mega Masjid project, and in sha Allah many more Mosques to come.

To do that I need at least $1 million.

I myself am giving Sadaqah on behalf of my mother for this, but honestly, I can’t do it alone.

The biggest regret I have is that I didn’t do enough for my mom...

So, I really want to do this for my mother.
Would you like to help me establish this Masjid Waqf today in this blessed month of Ramadan?
